Call (217) 555-0107Decatur AC repair: what the tech fixes on the first visit
In a Decatur heat wave, a dead AC is an urgent job. Most no-cool calls come down to a few routine repairs that AC techs handle every day.
Common no-cool fixes
- Failed capacitor or contactor at the outdoor unit.
- Frozen evaporator coil, thawed and the cause found.
- Refrigerant leak check and recharge.
- Clogged condensate drain line or float switch.
- Blower or condenser fan motor that will not spin.
- Thermostat wiring or settings.
Have this ready when you call
- What the AC is doing: warm air, no power, ice, water or a noise.
- About how old the system is, and the brand if you know it.
- The best callback number, in case the call drops.
Ice on the lines? Switch the AC off at the thermostat so the coil can start to thaw.
