With no AC in an Eloy summer, a home can turn dangerous within hours. Stay cool first, then check a few things.
Extreme heat danger
- Dizziness, confusion or no sweating can mean heat stroke. Call 911.
- Babies, older adults and anyone ill are at the most risk.
- If the house gets too hot, go to a cooling center or a cool public place.
Stay cool
- Drink water often, even if you are not thirsty.
- Close blinds and curtains on sunny windows.
- Stay on the lowest floor and use fans.
- Check on neighbors, and keep pets inside with water.
Check before the pro arrives
- Thermostat is set to Cool, below room temperature.
- The AC breaker is on and has not tripped.
- The air filter is not clogged.
- Ice on the lines? Turn the AC off. Do not run a frozen unit.

Questions
How much does emergency AC repair cost?
Prices vary by pro, part and time of day. After-hours visits often cost more. Ask for the diagnostic fee and a quote before work starts.
How soon can someone come out?
It depends on the pro's schedule. During an Eloy heat wave, demand is high. The pro will give you a time on the call.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Common causes are a dirty filter, a frozen coil, low refrigerant or a failed capacitor. Check the filter and thermostat, then call a pro for anything else.
Can I call at night or on a weekend?
Yes. The line is open 24/7, including holidays.
Are you the AC company?
No. We are a free referral service. Your call connects to an independent AC pro who does the work and sets the price.
